Cissexism

Cissexism

(noun | cissexist, adjective)

Cissexism is a system of oppression that results in the degradation, isolation, stigmatization, and marginalization of transgender people and the wider trans+ community. It is pervasive in many cultures and includes such things as “biological essentialism,” TERFs, and assuming all people are cisgender and endosex until told otherwise.

e.g. The lack of non-binary options on intake forms is not only non-binary erasure, but also a product of cissexism.
