“Fe/male-Bodied”

Fe/male-Bodied”

(sintagma nominal)

An outdated term that is often used synonymously with AFAB/AMAB. This term is viewed negatively by most of the transgénero community. It reinforces ideas about what constitutes “fe/male” that are discriminatory against trans people. Wo/men have fe/male bodies, regardless of their trans status. The same can be applied to the terms “biological wo/men” and “genetic wo/men”. Wo/men are both biologically and genetically wo/men, regardless of their trans status.

E.g. Susie pushed for clarification when Karen started talking about someone else being “male bodied.”
