Masculine of Center (MoC)

Masculine of Center (MOC)

(abbreviation / adjective phrase)

An umbrella term coined by B. Cole of the Brown Boi Project, that covers a range of both cisgender and transgénero identities that inhabit the masculine side of the gender spectrum including but not limited to: boi, butch, stud, and trans masculine. While this term is, as far as we at the Primer are aware, not exclusive to people of color, it is primarily used in communities of color so should be used with care and respect to those communities and may be seen as appropriation in some contexts.

e.g. Lor came out as a masculine of center boi to their friends.
