Indigender
(adjective)
An exclusive gender umbrella term specific to people of indigenous cultures with culture-specific genders. Under that umbrella are not only indigenous culture-specific genders (who may or may not identify as indigender specifically), but also genders that are related to, adjacent to, or similar to, their indigenous culture-specific gender and those indigenous culture-specific genders that lack specific language. Indigender people may or may not transition physically, legally, or socially. This is based on their understanding of their relationship with gender and their access to transitioning within their culture. Generally, indigender people are considered under the third gender, non-binary and transgender umbrellas but may or may not identify as transgender or non-binary specifically.
e.g. Amina had heard that their culture had a third gender in ancient times, but because information about that gender had been lost, they considered themself to be indigender.
