Name Change
(noun)
A name change is the process by which someone goes through the process of legally changing their name. Requirements to do so vary by location. Generally the process involved filling out paperwork, paying a fee, and submitting it all to the courts. There’s also often a hearing involved where the person filing a name change has to appear in front of a judge. Sometimes, the courts require some kind of public notice of the name change.
e.g. Siona went to the courthouse to finalize her name change.
