Neurodiversity
(noun | neurodivergent, adjective)
Neurodiversity is the concept that the human brain comes in a variety of different forms which results in people having particularly different experiences. Those whose neurocognitive functioning falls within the norm are called neurotypical. Examples of those who might identify as neurodivergent are autistic, dyslexic, epileptic, schizophrenic, or bipolar folks, folks with ADHD, dyscalculia, or a traumatic brain injury (TBI), but there are also other neurodivergent people. Like gender, there are nearly infinite potential neuro-differences. Neurotypical and neurodivergent carry no judgement in and of itself— they are purely descriptive terms.
e.g. Timothy was constantly fascinated by how the neurodiversity of his work team affected their performance on different projects.
