Transqueer

Transqueer

(adjective, noun)

This term is intentionally hard to define, much as is its counterpart queer. It can generally be understood as a gender that is neither man nor woman, possibly a mix of genders, and possibly fluid. Transqueer people may or may not transition physically, legally, or socially. Categorically, transqueer people are considered under the non-binary and transgender umbrellas but may or may not identify with those terms individually. Those decisions are based on their understanding of their relationship with gender and their access to transitioning within their culture.

e.g. Peyton told nir doctor that ne is transqueer and would prefer ne/nem/nir pronouns.
